On June 25 in Konya (Turkey) the European school chess championships started.
Entitled to partipate are players (boys and girls) under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 years.
The five-stars hotel "Rixos" hosts the championship
The first round began today at 16 o'clock on local time, the last round will be held at ten o'clock on July 2. And closing is planned on the same day at 16:30.
On July 26 and 30 two rounds in day are held.
Championship is carried out on the Swiss system to 9 rounds. Control of time: 90 minutes on 40 moves and 30 minutes until the end of party with addition of 30 seconds on each move. Players are forbidden to agree to a draw to 40 movies..
In championship 670 participants from 12 countries (GEO, TUR, RUS, ENG, AZE, DEN, BUL, MDA, ROU, ALB, ESP, FIN) battle.
After owners, the biggest delegations is from Russia and Azerbaijan.
It is very pleasant that this year, with help of the Batumi city hall, in such prestigious and big chess tournament part was taken also Georgia.
The only one Georgian participant of the championship the Batumi young member of chess club "Nona" Tengiz Didmanidze who will participate in a tournament among young men under 15 years.
During the championship, the highly skilled trainer invited by club will carry out daily trainings and will give professional help in preparation before games.
For Tengiz it is the first tournament the abroad. We wish success!!!
