On February 18th, the III International Open rapid chess tournament of the chess club “Nona” was held at the Batumi Sports Palace named after Mukhran Vakhtangadze.

The tournament was held in 7 rounds Swiss system, according to FIDE rules.
About 50 chess players from 6 countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Israel, Kazakhstan, FIDE) took part in the tournament.
Time control: 10 minutes for each player, plus 5 seconds per move starting from move one.
The international FIDE rapid chess rating is calculated in the tournament.
An annual series of rating tournaments was introduced by the Nona chess club in 2023.
Every quarter, one or two tournaments will be held among unrated players, as well as one open tournament with the calculation of the international rating.
Prize-winning places went to:
I place – Emin Khachaturian (6.5) FIDE
II place - Ksenia Bodnaruk (6) FIDE
III place – Rati Diasamidze (6)
The first place winner was awarded a trophy.
The winners were awarded medals, diplomas and cash prizes.
